Sports Illustrated has launched an online sportsbook with a $10k free-to-play game, a welcome promo with $200 in free bet value, original SI content, and more.

Authentic Brands Group (the parent company of Sports Illustrated) has teamed up with 888 Holdings to bring sports bettors the SI Sportsbook. This online sportsbook offers players various features, including the free-to-play game “Perfect 10”, a live Betfeed to see other players’ bets, Sports Illustrated article content that can be used as valuable research, and a dark mode appearance option. Unfortunately, the promotions and bonuses (as of this writing) start and end with the welcome promo.
The welcome promo at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is a “bet & get” offer where you’ll receive eight $25 free bets when you wager just $20 on a contest with minimum odds of +120.
Nonetheless, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook brings a breath of fresh air to the Michigan online sports betting marketplace.

At Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, new players can access a “bet & get” welcome promo. As the phrase states, you’ll receive bonus funds when you bet a particular amount..
You’ll receive $200 worth of free bets when you wager $20, and your bet wins. The $20 wager must be on a contest with minimum sports betting odds of +120.
When you make your wager, you’ll receive the $200 in free bets in increments valued at $25 each. It may take up to 72 hours for you to receive the free bets.
These free bets expire in seven days, and the free bet amount is not awarded on wins. If you use a $25 free bet on something with +100 odds, you’d typically receive $50 back with a win, but with a free bet, you’ll only receive the $25 winnings.
Outside of this welcome promo, no other existing player promotions are available, and there is no rewards program currently in place.
Yes and no. As an existing player, you won’t have access to the welcome bonus Sports Illustrated Sportsbook offers which requires promo code “SI200” as this is for new players only.
However, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook may, at any time, offer a new promotion or bonus that’s available to you as an existing player that could require the use of a promo code. You should always keep your eyes peeled for new promos.
Unlike other Michigan sportsbooks that offer a wide variety of sport betting bonuses and promotions other than a welcome bonus, SI currently has no additional offers for existing or new players.
SI Sportsbook doesn’t offer a referral bonus at this time.
Although there’s an icon for “Rewards” on the homepage, there’s currently no rewards program available at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook. However, since there is an icon for it on the homepage, this could mean that one is in development for the future. Keep your eyes on this page for any future updates.
Creating an account at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is fast and shouldn’t take longer than just a few minutes to complete. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to do so using the mobile app.
After this, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook will run geolocation software which temporarily tracks your IP address to confirm you’re within the borders of a legal SI Sportsbook state. This is to authorize you to make real-money transactions.
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook offers an exciting feature known as live betting, which enables players to place wagers on games and events as they unfold in real-time. There’s a page dedicated to this type of betting, and you can navigate it by sport using the menu at the top of the page.
Cash Out: This feature allows you to bow out of wagers before completion. This can be used from two points of view: If you’re losing, you can bail out before it ends to salvage some of your original wagers, or if you’re winning but not totally confident in how the rest of the game will go, you can take home a portion of the winnings you would’ve gotten just to be safe.
Perfect 10: Perfect 10 is a free-to-play game where players select from a group of 10 games against the spread. If you get all 10 correct, you’ll win up to $10k in prizes, split amongst whoever else wins the game.
The Betfeed shows bets that are made on the platform in real time. As far as the benefits of this feature, it gives you a sense of how other players are betting and can be a “tiebreaker” for you if you’re having trouble deciding which direction to wager.
This betting market allows you to create a parlay with bets only from a single game. When you click on a game you’re interested in betting on, there’s a separate page available for SGPs. Here, you’ll find the available betting options to build an SGP.
Like many popular social media apps, you can go between dark and light modes. In the default light mode, you’ll see a mostly white background. With dark mode, the white on the page converts to black. This is purely for aesthetics.
On the sportsbook’s homepage, players sometimes see article content across numerous sports. You can access these here and learn more information or click one of the links in the upper left-hand corner to go to SI.com, SI Shop, or SI Tickets.
On the homepage, SI Sportsbook offers players a series of SuperBoost betting options. These are essentially three-leg parlays that have their odds enhanced beyond what they’d typically be.
When comparing the odds at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook to popular competitors in Michigan, SI Sportsbook is consistent across the board. Still, it doesn’t necessarily offer “better” odds or more betting options than others. You’ll get a reliable library of competitive betting markets and odds.
The SuperBoosts offer some niche odds that you’ll only find on SI Sportsbook. These unique and specific opportunities for boosted odds will likely prove to be among the best odds around on whatever the bet may be.
At the time of this review, there are four SuperBoosts available: Two for MLB, one for the NBA, and one for the NHL. For example, the MLB SuperBoosts include the following:
Two notable sports that the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook covers extensively are football and tennis, both in terms of the quantity of bets offered and the quality of odds. For tennis, they offer odds on numerous tournaments and contests around the globe, including the United States, Mexico, Spain, Croatia, and more.
As for football, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook offers plenty of futures options for NFL betting, but also various markets for the other professional leagues, like the XFL and USFL.

Whether you’re using the mobile app or desktop platform, the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook user interface design is done in a way that makes betting easy and provides seamless access to its various features.
We started on the desktop platform. When we opened the page, my eyes immediately saw the betslip on the right side of the page and the menu on the left.
The menu on the left was the central resource to navigate the page, as there were links to the betting markets, promotions, live betting, and more. The only thing that I didn’t find here was customer support. After scanning the site briefly, we found the “?” icon at the top of the page. Having reviewed other sportsbooks in Michigan, it was easy for us to spot this icon and correlate it to the help center. However, for a new player, there’s nothing that would indicate that. Alternatively, there are links at the bottom of the page for deposit/withdrawal information and “Online help.”
From here, we looked at the individual sports betting pages. The way the games and odds are presented are OK, but the color scheme aesthetic is a bit too “uniform,” and viewing the odds can be difficult. We’d recommend finding the game you want to bet on, clicking on it, and opening the page dedicated solely to that game.
Once you discover the collapsible drop-down menu on the mobile app, no other questions remain about where to find certain vital elements of the sportsbook such as the promotions, available sports, live betting, the Betfeed, and more.
Unlike other sportsbooks, there’s no massive carousel-like menu for the various promotions and bonuses taking up most of the screen.
The betslip is easy to locate on both platforms. It is on the right side of the desktop and populates at the bottom on mobile.
While no live streaming is available, live betting is still possible. There are no limitations on what sports you can bet on going from one platform to another.
When reviewing mobile apps and desktop platforms, we first look for how similar they are to one another. This allows players to pick up and play from either without a learning curve, and we’re happy to report that that is the case with SI Sportsbook.
Of course, going from desktop to mobile is a smaller screen, so Sports Illustrated Sportsbook accommodates that by having the collapsible menu in the upper left-hand corner. Here, you’ll find links to everything you see on the left-side menu on the desktop, including sports, Perfect 10, Betfeed, Promotions, and the homepage.
The homepage has a horizontal menu of all the available sports with the appropriate league logos for easy viewing. A static menu along the bottom of the app for the homepage, live betting, promotions, and a search option allows you to find leagues, teams, and games.
As far as the betslip goes, it’ll populate at the bottom when you click on something you want to bet on.
As mentioned with the mobile app, there’s no difference between the two platforms other than the collapsible menu on the mobile app readily available on the left side, and the betslip is also readily available and viewable.
Also on the desktop are links to SI.com, SI Shop, and SI Tickets in the upper left-hand corner. To toggle between legal states, you’ll see an icon with the state abbreviation. You can click on this to toggle between the available states should you leave Michigan and travel to Virginia or Colorado.
As of February 2023, Sports Illustrated Casino is available in Michigan. Players will have access to a welcome offer with a 100% deposit match worth up to $1,000, daily prizes, and a $50 no-deposit bonus when they sign up.
As for the games, you can play slots, table games, live dealer games, and Sports Illustrated Exclusive titles.
There are hundreds of slots to choose from, provided by top developers like NetEnt, Playtech, IGT, High 5, and Light & Wonder (formerly known as Scientific Games).
Here are the number of titles available for the other game types:
Blackjack: 5 | Poker: 13 |
Roulette: 6 | Craps: 1 |
Baccarat: 5 | Variety Games: 5 |
SI Sportsbook is partnered with Island Resort & Casino. While sports betting is available there, it’s not under the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook brand. The in-person sportsbook opened in September 2020, almost a year before partnering with Sports Illustrated Sportsbook.
At SI Sportsbook, you can only access email and FAQ support. Unfortunately, no live chat or phone support is available at this time.
To access customer support, you first click on the collapsible menu in the upper left-hand corner of the mobile app. There you’ll find a link to the “Help Center.”
This opens up a page with links to the FAQ, email, and the Top FAQs. There’s also a “virtual assistant” named Amanda, which initially made us think there was a live chat or some kind of automated FAQ. Still, there’s really no relevance other than just a virtual figure to “personalize” the customer support more.
While only two customer support methods are available, we have to say that the FAQ is one of the more in-depth and information-packed sections we’ve seen. Other Michigan sportsbooks like to be vague or outright conceal information about banking details, but SI Sportsbook has that information for prospective players readily available.
The email support is done on an online ticketing form, and you can expect to receive a reply within 24 hours.
Overall, there are far more positives than negatives at SI Sportsbook. There are some features here that you won’t find elsewhere, but there are also features from elsewhere that would create value here if added.
Looking at live betting, some other sites offer live streaming on international contests or have a graphic that shows the field/court for the sport and provides live updates as they happen in the game. At Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, you still have various betting options, but the only thing it has beyond that is just the game’s score.
Adding a feature to show live updates in addition to the features it already offers would make SI Sportsbook stand out even more in a competitive Michigan online sports betting space.
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is a fantastic place to make bets regardless of your experience level. It offers an exciting welcome promo that doesn’t require a lot of financial commitment as some others do. Still, no other promotions are available, and there is no loyalty or rewards program currently available.
The customer support is excellent for the options it has. Still, with so much competition, especially in 2023, it’s not often you don’t see a live chat option.
Outside of the welcome bonus, the major selling points are the features like the ability to enable dark mode, Perfect 10, the SI article content, and the Betfeed. These are unique features that you don’t see in other places, making SI Sportsbook an exciting sports betting destination in the ultra-competitive Michigan market.
